Chapter Three: 1st comment
"The ground had been prepared in advance by those officers, who were affiliated to the moderate national forces such as the National Front. I knew some of them and used to visit them as friends. I personally played a role in paving the way. These officers were prepared to go and reassure the clergy that the army was already in harmony with the revolution and that the clergy should realize that the army was not about to stage a coup. There were only a handful of army units, which were still prepared to confront."
