Clive Meaker - Urban Award

2008 Update...


Clive with his band During 2007 Dr Meaker & his 9 piece band have played at renowned events such as Glastonbury Festival, Bestival and Ashton Court Festival as well as at legendary clubs throughout the world. They also entertain their Bristol home crowd regularly, gaining a sought-after reputation for getting the crowd bouncing and grinding.

Meaker with their ruff-cut bass licks, sublime vocals and sweet rhythms are poised to infect the UK and beyond with their pulsating start-to-finish live set. They are receiving airplay from the UK’s major radio stations including BBC Radio 1 (Zane Lowe, Rob Da bank), BBC1Xtra, Ministry of sound as well as at campus radio stations as far beyond as Canada and New Zealand. In 2007 Dr Meaker won the Glastonbury Festival 2007 emerging talent competition, and also the BBC Unsigned Gods of the Pods.

Dr Meaker are becoming known as one of UK’s best up and coming soul / dance acts, with a following that grows larger every day. They are currently working on a debut album in collaboration with legends such as Howie B, Massive Attack collaborators and a whole host of new, fresh talent.
