About Connected Studio

Connected Studio is a new approach to delivering innovation across BBC Future Media. We’re looking for digital agencies, technology start-ups and individual designers and developers (including BBC staff) who want to submit and develop ideas for innovative features and formats. The goal is to add a range of new functions, features or formats across our online services, streamlining audience experience and optimising BBC digital media products for the future.

The majority of BBC Online products are built according to long-term internal roadmaps and a standard commissioning process, but we believe there’s room for a more radical approach – experimental ideas can be pitched, built and delivered in an open, collaborative environment that’s responsive to the big data challenge of connecting platforms, products and audiences.

We’re inviting you to participate in Connected Studio events across the UK. Get involved and work closely with BBC experts to help shape the future of our digital media output. We have a fund of £1 million ready to invest in your early-stage concepts and public-facing pilots, if we feel they meet the Connected Studio selection criteria.
