Height calculator

There's an old theory that you can predict how tall someone will be as an adult by doubling their height at the age of two. Using growth data gathered from thousands of children, today's equation is rather more complex - and a bit more accurate. Do it for fun and see how tall your child may become.

Estimate your child's adult height with the BBC Parenting/Child of our Time calculator. Simply fill in your child's height and gender below, then press the purple button underneath.

This calculator only provides a very rough estimate. More accurate estimates can be made but need further information such as the child's weight and the parents height at age 18. Talk to your doctor or health visitor if you are worried about your child's height.
