Best-laid plans Rhianna's parents, Tanya and Andy, wanted a millennium baby and joined the Child of Our Time project before Tanya was pregnant. Tanya was a garment technologist and planned to go back to work soon after Rhianna was born. But the bond with her daughter was stronger than she thought it would be and she didn't go back to work until Rhianna was nine months old. Rhianna then went to a childminder. A year later, the family moved to a smaller house so Tanya could work part time and spend more time with her daughter. Intelligent and inquisitive Rhianna thrived, and by the age of two she was an intelligent and inquisitive child. Tanya and Andy weren't getting on so well. Tanya felt Andy wasn't playing a large enough role in either Rhianna's care or bringing in a wage. By the time she was five, Rhianna was showing signs of anxiety. After advice from a child psychologist, Tanya and Andy worked to improve their relationship, which has benefited Rhianna. Inventive child Tanya has an invention she hopes to sell to the clothing industry, which may improve the family's financial position. Now seven, Rhianna is an intelligent and friendly child, full of ideas and inventions.
