Strong principles Nathan's parents, Ruth and Richard, believe in vegetarianism, ensuring their actions don't harm the environment, and the use of naturopathic and alternative medicines. They've worked hard to pass on these principles to their children, Joy and Nathan. For many years, Richard worked as an artist and educator. For a while, the couple also ran their own small business, incorporating pottery and sculpture workshops and a gallery. Strong principles This year has seen big changes for the family. Ruth has gone back to her career in care work and Richard now looks after the children. They moved from the countryside to a bigger house near Ruth's work. Joy and Nathan have joined a new school. Nathan is a capable and enthusiastic artist. He loves painting and singing, and occasionally aspires to be a sculptor, like his dad.
