Claire Halsey

Claire Halsey

Claire is a parent and clinical psychologist living and working in the north west of England.

She studied at Sheffield and Surrey universities, and has been a clinical psychologist for more than 20 years. Claire has spent the past 19 years working with children and families in both Australia and England. She is a regular contributor to magazines, writing on the subject of parenting and child development. She has also been busy raising three boys.

Eileen Hayes

Eileen Hayes

A mother of four, Eileen Hayes is an author, magazine columnist, trained counsellor and frequent broadcaster on TV and radio. Her background includes teaching, psychology, health promotion, and research on antenatal and postnatal care and education.

As parenting adviser to the NSPCC, she has worked on major campaigns such as Full Stop and Protecting Babies, and written a wide range of the charity's publications, including Baby's First Year.

A regular contributor to the media on family topics, Eileen has also appeared on parenting programmes on BBC TV.

She has published several books on childcare, including Understanding Your Baby, Understanding Your Toddler (Egmont) and Crying (Pan MacMillan).

Dr Rob Hicks

Dr Rob Hicks MB BS, DRCOG, MRCGP

Rob Hicks qualified at St Mary's Hospital, London, in 1989 and then did a variety of hospital medical jobs before entering general practice in 1992. He now works part-time as a GP and as a hospital clinical assistant in sexual health medicine. His special interests are men's, women's and children's health, complementary therapies, nutrition and health promotion.

Rob appears regularly on TV and radio, has presented live radio and webcast shows, and has recorded video and CD-ROM programmes. He contributes regularly to Metro newspaper, Healthy, Men's Fitness, Healthy Living and Prima Baby magazines, and has also written for numerous other publications. Over the years he has written for most of the general practice professional publications on health, motoring and finance.

He is an editor and prolific contributor to the BBC online health site.
