Iffley Road - Bannister's four minute mile

The photo shows Roger Bannister talking to BBC Oxford's Bill Heine at the race track on Iffley Road where on May 6, 1954, he ran the first sub-four-minute mile in recorded history. His time was 3 minutes 59.4 seconds.
