This was the 4th annual Cowley Road, Carnival in East Oxford.

The theme for 2004 was 'Water'.

The Cowley Road Carnival was an enjoyable, extremely colourful event.

There was a mixture of African, Caribbean and Asian music on the main 'Rainbow Stage', with the sound of drums, guitars and saxophones dotted around the streets.

The main procession included a mass of colourful groups which included people dressed up as mermaids, shells, and all things water orientated.
