Part
Five
5 hours
and 38 minutes after I stepped over the start line with 33,000 other
mad people I ran over the finish on the Mall in pouring rain! It
was the most fantastic day ever - I can't even begin to describe
the crowds and how their cheers really pulled us all along when
the going got tough (about 18 miles!) And the last 3 miles are the
hardest I have ever run - the skies really opened but still I chugged
on.
The
great news is, with your help, we have all made a massive contribution
to Against Breast Cancer and I spoke to the charity yesterday and
they're delighted. So far the total stands at £1,806. If you
would still like to make a donation please do.
Thanks
again for all your support
.
Part
four
On
Sunday 18 April, 2004 Alison will be running the London Marathon
and she is getting quite nervous. In part four of her series she
speaks to other people running for her charity to get a bit of moral
support.
Part
Three
She's
back on her feet, running further and further each week but now
there's another challenge, Raising hundreds of pounds for Against
Breast Cancer
can her powers of persuasion work?
Part
Two
Disaster
hits Alison's training regime. After a six mile run in early January
it would seem that she tried to do too much too soon...
Part
One
In
2003 she didn't get past the ballot and spent the morning of the
marathon watching the runners on telly, nursing a hangover and feeling
smug. Now she's got a guaranteed place for 18 April 2004.
