"So, we kind of monitor our own festival. We have had some great bands on and we've always done this for the past 25 years.

"Our policy is, if we like the band, we figure our audience will.

"I've done it since I was 21 and I'm now 55 as you can tell by looking at me! We still play all of the time, but Cropredy is the centrepiece of Fairport's year.

Simon Nicol
Simon Nicol rehearses with the rest of the band.

"People keep coming back. It's not just for the music but it's the whole atmosphere of the event.

"It's a family oriented festival and people feel safe and comfy there and are surrounded by really nice people."

"The last three years it's been pretty bad weather. It's great to know, touch wood, that it's going to be pretty good weather this year."
