Love Oxford

Listen to the report from this year's event at South Park.

Thousands of people packed Oxford's South Park for the annual Love Oxford event on the 17th May. Nearly 50 churches helped organise the celebration, attended by both young and old.

Now in its fourth year, organisers said the aim was to show the city that churches care deeply for people in the area, and want to show unity. During the service, the congregation prayed for the city by facing all directions.

Love Oxford

Among the speakers was a missionary from Mozambique called Heidi Baker. She shared her powerful story of how she has rescued ten thousand children and given them shelter through her organisation, Iris Ministries.

Although the weather ended on a wet note, it failed to dampen peoples' spirits.
