Bluebells

Send us your spring pictures

We’ve been to the Harcourt Arboretum to see the start of the spring bluebell bloom and now we’d like your pictures…

Now that we are well into Spring, Oxfordshire is in bloom, and one of the best places to see the trees come alive with colour is at the Harcourt Arboretum. Later in May and June its azaleas and rhododendrons that will be in full bloom, but right now it is the carpet of bluebells that is its main attraction.

Against the background of the peacock cries and amongst the bouncing hares you can sit and enjoy this fantastic spectacle under the mature oaks that have grown from the acorns of the original trees brought by the Harcourts in 1837.

Although you’ll see in the pictures the woodland floor already looks glorious, the best time to see Bluebells at Harcourt is at the end of April so there is still plenty of time to catch them in all their glory.

We want to hear from you

There are many other spots around Oxfordshire where the flowers are looking magnificent. If you know of a great location where you can take a nice photo, why not send it to us at oxford@bbc.co.uk and we’ll put it on this page.
