Help playing audio/video The Banbury music scene has only sporadically delivered. Its most illustrious son has now become so globally infamous that we dare not speak his name, and yet there is a vibrant underground scene there that is starting to produce the goods. The Ryes, whose singer lives in the town, leads the pack, although their connections to the locality are tenuous. Dance-rockers Sikorski could be the best of a scene which consists of a fistful of heavy metal bands and acoustic singer songwriters. The competition may not be incredibly strong but now with The Keyz on our radar perhaps the wind of change is about to blow the languid stench of coffee from the town's music venues and replace it with the smell of success! You’ll have to excuse the hyperbole but good Banbury bands can be counted on the fingers of a man who’s been bare knuckle fighting against a meat cleaver. But that’s okay because The Keyz could be set to change all that. The band cover all the musical bases - they are like Banbury’s musical Swiss Army Knife - and with them on the scene perhaps it won’t need any other musicians. last updated: 29/08/2008 at 13:48 SEE ALSOYou are in: Oxford > Entertainment > Music > The Keyz interview This week's show
