NO Flash Photography

BBC Oxford Introducing’s live night reporter exhibits his work in the centre of Oxford 30 June – 31 July 2008, Lolapoloza Gallery, Blue Boar Street, Oxford, OX1 1DL

Marc West is one of the foundering fathers of BBC Oxford’s local music initiative. In late 2004 when we were putting together pilots for the show he was lending his wealth of talents to the project. Ever since then he has worked tirelessly to reflect the fantastic scene and brilliant artists that the county has to offer.

His work has brought him into contact with all of the fledging artists who are now major stars on the world stage. He's interviewed Kaiser Chiefs, Arctic Monkeys and Bat For Lashes to name but a few and has an innate intuition about who is likely to make it big. We’ve learnt over the past four years that if Marc recommends a band we should seriously heed his advice.

As well as his musical sixth sense Marc has an astonishing eye for a good photograph and at this exhibition you’ll be able to see some of his hand picked favourites. If you’ve ever thought about breaking into the music industry as a reporter/photographer you couldn't find a better inspiration, make sure you go and check it all out in glorious Technicolor.
