BBC Oxford was proud to be official broadcast partner of the Cornbury festival for the fourth year running. We broadcast performances from the festival for the first time and provided interviews and the full festival experience all weekend.

The line up was better than ever with artists including KT Tunstall, 10CC, The Bangles and Beverley Knight as well as Grammy Award Winning Artist Paul Simon.

This year our local music show 'BBC Oxford Introducing…' hosted an opportunity for local musicians to put themselves forward for a chance to open up the festival on the main stage. With help from Radio 2’s Richard Allinson and the festival organiser Hugh Phillimore they whittled down the local acts to one fabulous talent. That lucky person was Maria Ilett and you can hear how it came to pass in the audio below.

Set in the majestic and beautifully landscaped grounds of Cornbury Park, Oxfordshire, the Cornbury Music Festival is fast becoming one the most celebrated events on the social calendar, where people from all walks of life join together with their children and listen to some of the most inspirational bands and artists of our time.

Everyone is catered for at Cornbury. Whether you have a taste for Champagne or real ale, gourmet food or good old pie and chips, the Cornbury Music festival has it all.
