Live music from 1.15, end 11pm Legendary Krautrockers Michael Rother and Dieter Möbius, whose musical CVs include the likes of Neu!, Kraftwerk, Harmonia and Cluster, will headline this year's Audioscope festival, the annual showcase in aid of Shelter. ![]() Sea and Cake Rother, who featured in a 1971 line-up of synthpop and electro pioneers Kraftwerk, went on to co-found Neu! But it's his collaborative efforts with Cluster's Möbius that come under the spotlight tonight. They released two records as Harmonia, and also worked on material with ambient music Godfather Brian Eno. Christopher Stephen Clark, better known as Clark, also features, straight from legendary independent UK label Warp Records. Also on hand is Chicago's post-rock supergroup The Sea and Cake, live sensation S*** And Shine along with their six drummers and two bassists, and Birmingham's Einstellung, with their unique blend of Krautrock and Black Sabbath style grooves. ![]() Sunnyvale Noise Sub-element The current cream of the local crop are set to grace the Audioscope stage too. Witches have released one of the best local albums of the year in 'Heart of Stone', Winchell Riots - formed from the ashes of the acclaimed Fell City Girl - have upped the musical ante even more, whilst Sunnyvale Noise Sub-element, who are also the festival organisers, will open proceedings with their kinetic bursts of electronic garage noise. Since 2001, Audioscope has raised more than £15,000 for Shelter through live music events. Sunnyvale's Stuart Fowkes adds: "We're very excited to be able to present a showcase of some of the best alternative acts in the UK. We believe that by supporting Shelter, we can not only raise funds for the charity, but also awareness of the problems of bad housing and homelessness both on a local and a national scale."
