Celebrating the estate's 50th anniversary...

In May 1957 Oxford City Council approved plans to build a new estate to the south of the city and Blackbird Leys was born.

The estate celebrated the Golden Anniversary by arranging 50 different community events and activities.

BBC Oxford took the chance to look back over the years of Blackbird Leys in this four-part series.
