In eight parts Alan Titchmarsh will explore our native wildlife. As well as dramatic scenes of killer whales hunting seals it will feature the lesser known underwater courtship behaviour of the pike. The pike films were shot with the help of Chipping Norton painter and decorator Dean Burman. He made a film called Liar of the water wolf and entered it into the amateur category at the British Underwater Imaging Festival where it won. Dean is a keen diver and spent many hours in Stoney Cove near his home in Chipping Norton building up a fascination for the fish. In the lake he developed the skills for filming that might well lead to a full time career as a wildlife cameraman.
