Alex James Booksigning
By Marc West
Getting the lowdown on the Blur bassist's autobiography.
The charming, witty and slightly disreputable bass player of one of the most successful British bands of all time signed copies of his memoirs for fans at Waterstone’s in Oxford on June 19.
In his autobiography Bit Of A Blur, Alex James perfectly describes the Britpop generation and his journey from a slug-infested squat in London, to a world of hedonistic chaos and onto his current farming venture at his new home in the idyllic Cotswold village of Kingham.
I caught up with the newly domesticated 38-year-old to talk about sheep, soft cheese and space – and can also exclusively reveal for The Download that a performance on the same stage as Howard Marks and The Mighty Boosh at Truck 10 on July 21-22 is a definitely maybe.
Caution - interview contains some strong language.
