The Download SessionsThe CD containing the best of the live sessions from local bands at BBC Oxford is now available to buy, with all proceeds going to charity.
|
| | The Download is celebrating its first year on air by releasing the best of its acoustic sessions in aid of BBC Children in Need. The radio show and website are dedicated to highlighting the best music makers in the county and this CD pulls together their finest moments onto one disc. Each track was recorded at the BBC studios on The Banbury Road and all the artists have generously donated the rights to their music for free in aid of the charity. | "To order a copy of the CD online email tim.bearder@bbc.co.uk for details." | |
This year has seen some of the CD stars making waves nationally with Q Magazine describing Belarus’ first album Communicate as “…an elegant and stately opening salvo.” Meanwhile Oxford’s Los Diablos’ Joan of Arc song is the only official recording of the band available anywhere. Each track is unique and exclusive to this CD. It is available from a record shop near you somewhere in the county - Polar Bear Records in Oxford, Dawson’s in Abingdon, Windjammer Music in Didcot, Rapture in Witney, Record Savings in Banbury and in the foyer at BBC Oxford. The album is £5 with all proceeds going to BBC Children in Need. Track listing and clips: | | | last updated: 15/07/08 | SEE ALSO
