The Briton Moazzam Begg is a man who has an incredible story to tell. He spent three years in prison, much of it in solitary confinement and to this day he doesn’t know what crime he committed.

“That’s the position also of the majority of the people held in Guantanamo Bay, that they haven’t done anything. The law, innocence, guilt, all of these things don’t apply. What applies is the fact that they are there and they can be dealt with as the administration sees fit.” - Moazzam Begg talking to BBC Oxford’s Bill Heine.

"After a while they brought him out on a stretcher with his body covered with a sheet. Some guards later told me that he’d been killed."
Moazzam Begg

He has written a book about his experiences called Enemy Combatant: A British Muslim's Journey to Guantanamo and Back in which he talks about some horrifying experiences including the moments when he witnessed killings of two of his fellow detainees.

You can hear him explaining his story to BBC Oxford’s Bill Heine and taking calls from listeners by clicking on the audio at the top of this page.
