Annie Lennox has come to Oxford. She's Patron of a new humanitarian MA course at Oxford Brookes and is also introducing a film at the 4th Annual Human Rights Film Festival.

The legendary singer-songwriter first hit stardom as lead singer of the 1980s rock duo Eurythmics along with Dave Stewart. They released a string of classic singles such as "Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)", "Here Comes The Rain Again", and "There Must Be An Angel (Playing With My Heart)".

This was followed with solo success in the 90s, with famous hits including "Why", "Walking On Broken Glass" and "No More 'I Love You's'".

She's done much campaigning to raise global awareness about HIV and AIDS, and performed a memorably moving set at last year's LIVE8 event.
