I recorded this programme as it was on so late and watched it yesterday. I cried through most of it. I have a gorgeous, sociable 9 year old son who has cerebral palsy and the care needs of an 18month old. I have battled for years with managing everything. I lost my job earlier this year, and I suspect it was because of my low energy levels. I know about Every Disabled Child Matters and Aiming High funding which should increase short breaks, but it is slow coming to fruition. What is Rosa going to do next - will she be campaigning and will she want parental support? Can we help?

We are parents of a severley disabled child, he is now 21, we have fought successfully over the years for many things, funding has always been a challenge but have taken on the authorities whenever we have had to.
It takes energy and knowledge of the system, and have thought for years that there must be a better easier way to ensure funding gets, without the fight, to those that need it.
The documentary was so enlightening, if Rosa is doing anythingelse and needs parental input, we are here, and ready to join , create and sustain campaigns.
It is time Every Child Matters dully included disabled children.
Families are often so exhausted by caring for their disabled child it is to hard to find energies to fight the system.
Please make more programmes, with help from thise that are "Experts by ~Experience" on this subject and raise awareness to improve families lives.

I am all for this, we are fed up of fighting the system, being passed from pillar to post, and not getting anywhere. We have no energy to fight anyone, only to get through each day which is hard, Please please make more programs like this, but broadcast in prime time so that everyone is aware what we parents/carers go through.
