someone i know is committing fraud (dla) what should i do,
-
You need to be certain that they are fraudulently claiming before considering reportign them. As if they are not and you report them it will cause them a world of hassles they can do without.
If you know for certain that they are claiming fraudulently you should report it and let them know how you know they are fraudulently claiming.

The DWP have a facility on their website for you to report someone who you suspect of committing fraud. If you type DWP fraud into your search engine you should get there.

I knew of a couple claiming another benefit fraudently, and also working cash in hand off the books.
i reported them via the website, and I didn't hear back beyond the auto-reply
it did work though, because within a month, their benefit had been stopped. This is a reply to this message.

If you know they are claiming fraudulantly report them.
But
Ask yourself why you think they are claiming fraudulantly - just because the disability isn't obvious doesn't mean it dosn't exist - how would you feel/cope if your benifit was stopped because someone had reported you incorrectly? This is a reply to this message.

Years ago, I got totally hacked off with someone I knew endlessly bragging to me about his fantastic music career which he said was making him lots of money, whilst he was on means tested benefits. I reported him. With hindsight, it's quite possible he was a fantasist with no career to speak of, just a very occasional gig in a pub that just gave him a couple of free drinks, and his recording and teaching career all in his imagination. He was certainly addicted to both drugs and alcohol, which won't have done anything for his perception of reality. You just never know. These days, I'd leave well alone.
