Why does this board close when not all BBC boards do? I shall be on a different BBC board, so I shall have human contact, but there may be people here that will miss Ouch. I think that it's a shame that Ouch is not staying open.

Boo sucks!
Our boards stayed open last year and it was brilliant.
Why has it changed this year? This is a reply to this message.

This is most confusing after all in truth this is one board that needs to be kept open as quite a good few do not have anyone and can they just walk out of their homes and go into a local pub, park ny where there is humans around them answer no, and worse being disabled it affects them mentally as well, it is fine to put up the boards of those who would deal with them, but hold on what is the best way to deal with black moods having those around you who understand and why simply becuase they are like yourself, so this is the best therpey.
O well I just thought I would add thisThis is a reply to this message.

Hi NuttySurvivor,
Boards including ours are closed during this time due to the lack of moderation and BBC staff needed to host services over the Xmas period. This is a reply to this message.

You need to change the Ouch Messageboard front page then.

they're in an office like any other. if they haven't got the staff hours to keep it open, it has to close.
i don't know how they decide which forums are staffed to stay open over christmas but i would think it's based on figures and not subjective things like 'needy disabled people'This is a reply to this message.

Gids - the Archers site is staying open, as it has done in previous years.

Hi NS,
I guess 'us online addicts' are forced to find something else to do.
BTW I received my appl. form from 'Age Concern'. A nice Christmas present. It will be a while before I know if I'm a successful applicant, of course.
I've also started 'work' in h2g2, after having a look around. Not sure whether that board's open over hols.
Happy Christmas to our Hosts & Moderators
A 'well earnt break', for sure! This is a reply to this message.

There is always the Facebook Ouch site which you can use, although I'd personally only use it as a second last resort.

'Facebook Ouch site' - oh yeh?
Yes.
If the mods disagree with this, then please remove the link, but as other means of support have been granted, I see no reason why this cannot constitute as support:

Thanks, FA - though, I think you misinterpreted my ‘Oh yeh’ as an expression of doubt; it wasn't, really.
