Fighting the fat rolls
I am currently looking at FES machienes. They stimulate muscles apparently muscles dont know the difference between you working them or electric currents stimlating them, that way you work muscles that your spinal cord cant.
I cant tell you if it is any good as i dont have one yet but if you were to log onto the spinal injuries forum there is a company called physio function that will answer questions. I think the machines cost £70 to hire for the first 2 months, you can then decide to buy (about £300) if it works, they take the hire charge off the cost or carry on renting or give it back if it isnt for you

An uncertain outlook
Dispite what you thought of the spinal injuries unit you should be really greatful that you were even admitted to one. As i am currently finding out it is almost impossible to gain admittiance without sustaining a traumatic spinal injury.
I am currently fighting the system to get any kind of rehab or infact anyone to take the time to be bothered with me at all. Because apparently i have the wrong kind of spinal injury, instead its easier to say its psychological. The UK is really short of spinal unit places so you should think yourself lucky you were seen by one
