13 Questions: Chris Pavia

by Ouch Team

16th March 2008

Uppermost in my mind today is ...

That I'm doing a workshop in a school with people with special needs. We are teaching contemporary and modern dance.

People think I'm ...

Chris Pavia
Excellent on my memory, because it's the way I learn to dance. My memory helps me to get better and better, and it helps me to learn more dances.

I want to ban ...

Chris Pavia dancing
Graffiti, because every time I go somewhere on a train it looks like a mess. They write bad language on the walls.

Not a lot of people know that I ...

Like to play tennis, football and table tennis. My brother Will taught me to smash the ball over the net.

The best piece of advice I would pass on is ...

Don't be afraid to create new dances.

My ideal dinner guest is ...

Freddy Highmore. I love all the films he was in, like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Arthur and the Invisibles, and Finding Neverland. He's an amazing actor. My inspiration.

I couldn't live without ...

My parents. My mum's been amazing. She cooks all the food at home. My dad is a farmer. He is already starting lambing. I couldn't live without my DVD player either.

If I didn't live in the UK, I'd live in ...

I'd stay in England. I like Guildford because it's got Woolworths and WH Smith and Blockbuster. I like seeing my next door neighbours as well. I'm beginning to like being away now though, because there is everything to see.

Where do you spend most of your time?

Watching DVDs. I like Prime Evil and Home Improvement with TIm Allen. My favourite cheeky character in that show is Randy, played by Jonathan Taylor Thomas. The only film I don't like is ET, because it's noisy and too much in the dark.

My first job was ...

Working at the Herons Sports Centre in Haslemere, Surrey. I did cleaning, worked at the swimming pool, and helped people.

My favourite drink is ...

Lemonade. I can't drink Coke because it has caffeine in it and too much sugar.

When I'm on stage, I feel ...

Nervous, but once you're out there you feel great. We have had a few standing ovations too, which were amazing.

Working at StopGAP is ...

Great. The dancers Dan Watson and Lucy Bennett are amazing. They look after me and support me very well. The other dancer in the group is Laura Jones. She's in a wheelchair. We never fight.
