    Born just over 80 years ago in West Virginia, Crumb's music creates a sense of the mystical and spiritual. Theatrical yet beautiful in sound and delicate in texture, his is truly music made for Total Immersion.

    Hans Werner Henze's upbringing in a small German village during the 1930s fuelled his desire to become a musician and shaped his world-view. 'Everything that the fascists persecute and hate is beautiful to me,' this astonishingly prolific and influential composer later recalled.
