The BBC SO has established a tradition of exciting and innovative learning projects as part of its annual January Composer Weekends at the Barbican, becoming flagship projects in the orchestra's calendar and integral aspects of the weekend.
This year the great tradition continued with two fantastic projects during the BBC SO's weekend of concerts, talks and films dedicated to the visionary music of the Russian composer Sofia Gubaidulina.
SWARM: A new vocal piece created by Orlando Gough and performed by members of The Shout and 100 amateur singers.
With One Accord: A new piece created and performed by 30 accordionists, 70 young musicians from Bromley Youth Music Trust, the Young Music Makers and 12 members of the BBC SO.
