RaW Project

Max and Lara
Story Telling and Sound Effects!

1 December 2007: New Broadcasting House, Manchester

This week players from the BBC Philharmonic are teamed up with RaW for hands-on storytelling activities for the whole family to enjoy!

Families were invited to Studio 7 to take part in story-telling workshops with a festive feel, featuring RaW characters Max and Lara.

Then everyone was invited to help create some weird and wonderful sound effects for the new stories with the assistance of BBC Philharmonic musicians.

It was a fun-filled day for all the family with a very special surprise guest....Father Christmas!

Children play bongos to create sound effects!  Workshop leader Damien demonstrates the instruments

RaW
RaW is the BBC’s biggest ever campaign that aims to help adults across the UK read and write better.

RaW is for everyone (did you know there are 12 million adults in the UK who struggle with reading and writing)? However, there is a special focus on families.

If you have kids and you’d like to help them read better, or you’d like to read them better stories, RaW can help. Visit bbc.co.uk/raw for more information.
