 An ensemble of ten musicians from the BBC Philharmonic were 'in residence' on the Isle of Man for the week of 2-9 July, undertaking a variety of education and community activities across the island.
From schools workshops to Supermarket Symphonies via Pub Operas, music in hospitals, railway stations, shopping malls, Jazz Events, Concerts with Manx Youth Orchestra and much, much more!
The entire orchestra arrived on Saturday 8 July to undertake two major concerts in the island's recently re-furbished Villa Marina - Royal Concert Hall.
Music included Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto (Olivier Charlier - Violin), Rachmaninov's 2nd Symphony and a performance of Carl Orff's timeless Carmina Burana performed by local choirs from across the Isle of Man.
The residency, supported by the Isle of Man Arts Council, proved to be a massive hit with the public and the players alike.

Monday 3rd July
Morning: 2 performances of Who Killed Ramona Rhapsody in local schools.
Afternoon: GCSE/A Level Composers masterclass.
Evening: Manx Youth Orchestra coaching session.
Tuesday 4th July
Morning: 2 performances of Who Killed Ramona Rhapsody in schools.
Afternoon: Manx Youth Orchestra coaching session.
Wednesday 5th July
Morning: Supermarket Symphony performances in Shoprite, Ramsey; 10.30 and 12.30.
Afternoon: Duos/Trios in stations, hospitals and shops.
Evening: Excess Prophet at the Peel Centenary Centre with Alan Barnes.
Thursday 6th July
Morning: Performance in secondary school with Manx Youth Orchestra.
Afternoon: Performance in secondary school with Manx Youth Orchestra.
Evening: Douglas - Jazz Jamming session for all-comers.
Friday 7th July
Morning: Phil's Connections workshops in schools.
Afternoon: Rehearsal of Pub Operas.
Evening: Pub Operas performances in Port Erin.
Saturday 8th July
Afternoon: Rehearsal Session for Orchestra - with access for students to attend.
Evening: Orchestra Concert in Villa Marina, 8pm. Post Concert Jazz in Villa Marina.
Sunday 9th July
Morning: Rehearsal of Carmina Burana with full orchestra and all choirs/soloists.
Afternoon: Orchestra Concert in Villa Marina, 2.30pm.
