Salford Community Tour December 08
While the majority of the BBC Philharmonic were rehearsing for the upcoming tour of China, a select few players embarked on their own tour of Salford.
Discovering Music - Salford University
A music and dance project led by Matthew Barley and Frantic Assembly's Steven Kirkham. Students from Salford University worked with the John Tavner piece The Protecting Veil to create their own compositions. The project culmiated with a performance at the Maxwell Hall.
Salford Community Tour March 08
While the majority of the BBC Philharmonic headed off on tour to Japan, a select few players are embarked on their own alternative tour of Salford!
La Mer Project
A highly creative project which saw musicians from the BBC Philharmonic working with three Salford high schools based on Debussy's orchestral masterpiece, La Mer.
BBC RaW
BBC Philharmonic musicians worked alongside the BBC's RaW (Reading and Writing) campaign, on an extra special Chrsitmas story-telling workshop with special effects!
Brass Prom
The BBC Philharmonic joined forces with the BBC Proms team, the Royal Northern College of Music and amateur musicians from all over the country in a spectacular day celebrating all things brass in July 2007.
Play it Again
On the 15th and 16th June 2007 around 1000 people from across the North of England joined the BBC Philharmonic over two days of music making workshop activities which culminated in four performances.
Discovering Music in Salford

Isle of Man Residency
A group of BBC Philharmonic musicians were in residence on the Isle of Man in July 2006, undertaking music making activity across the Island
Africa Weekend
