Biography

The BBC Philharmonic has just moved into a new home at the BBC's new base in the North at MediaCityUK, Salford Quays. Its main concert series takes place at Manchester's world renowned classical venue, The Bridgewater Hall and this season sees the arrival of its new Chief Conductor, Juanjo Mena.

Studio Performances at MediaCityUK, Salford

BBC Radio 3's Catherine Bott presents a programme in the BBC Philharmonic Studio

The BBC Philharmonic is resident at The Studios at MediaCityUK in Salford Quays. It is where the orchestra rehearses each week and where it records programmes for BBC Radio 3 and CDs for Chandos Records.

BBC Radio programmes are recorded or broadcast with a live studio audience and you can be in the audience for free by applying for tickets.



BBC Shows mailing list

Tickets for BBC studio events are managed by BBC Shows, which distributes audience tickets as well as building tours and other BBC events around the country. You can sign up to the BBC Shows & Tours mailing list to be alerted about all the latest BBC shows.

To ensure you are told about BBC Philharmonic events please select 'Music' as one of your preferred categories when you sign up.


Friends of the BBC Philharmonic

Members of the Friends receive a monthly mailing which includes details of upcoming studio concerts, plus much more information. We are able to offer Friends a priority booking period for many studio concerts before tickets are made available to other groups.

Joining the Friends involves a small annual fee. Please see the Friends tab for information on the various benefits of being a member and the cost of membership.
