I started playing at the age of twelve.
Why did you choose that instrument specially?
I enjoyed the deep, resonant sounds of the tuba.

What do you like most about playing in an orchestra? Is it fun?
The repertoire with the BBC Philharmonic is extremely varied.

No, not really.
What’s your favourite music?
I really enjoy classical music, particularly Beethoven.

Yes – sketching and painting.

I was a brass instrumental teacher before I joined the BBC.
