Festive favourites by the stocking-full, served up with lashings of Christmas cheer by the BBC SSO. And once again star tenor and Radio Scotland presenter Jamie MacDougall is your genial host. With Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, The Little Drummer Boy, a Sleigh Ride from Delius, together with a host of favourite carols for all the family, Christmas Classics is a long established hit at the Music Hall, so make sure you book early! The concert will be recorded for broadcast on BBC Radio Scotland at 3.00pm on Christmas Day.
How to get there
- The Music Hall is only a 5 minute walk from the bus and rail station. Exit stations onto Guild Street. Cross at the crossing and turn left. Follow the road round and turn right along Bridge Street until you come to the Travel Lodge on the corner of Union Street. Look up to your left - on the opposite side of the street you will see the large, round granite pillars of the Music Hall. Cross diagonally (towards The Monkey House pub). Walk up Union Street and the Music Hall is on the second block up.
- From the South: Head northeast on A9013/Holburn St toward Justice Mill Lane. Continue to follow A9013 onto Union Street. Turn left at Huntly Street (for Chapel Street car park) or South Silver Street (for Golden Square). The Music Hall is located on Union Street, Aberdeen, AB10 1QS. From the North: Head north on A90/Ellon Road. At the roundabout, take the 4th exit and stay on A90/Ellon Road. Go through 1 roundabout. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto A956/Ellon Road. Continue to follow A956. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto A956/King Street. Continue to follow King Street. Continue on A9013/Union Street. Turn right at South Silver Street (for Golden Square) or Huntly Street (for Chapel Street car park). The Music Hall is located on Union Street, Aberdeen, AB10 1QS. From the West: At Queen's Roundabout, take the 4th exit onto Albyn Place. Slight left at A978/Alford Place. Slight left at A9013/Union Street. Turn left at Huntly Street (for Chapel Street car park) or South Silver Street (for Golden Square).
- Wheelchair users can be accommodated for all events in the stalls. Please advise the box office at the time of booking. Two wheelchair accessible toilets are available, a lowered payphone is situated next to reception and a lowered counter is available in the box office.
