The BBC Singers explore music portraying the natural world in a programme which includes St Francis of Assisi's great hymn to creation set to music by Walton, depictions of life in the Hungarian countryside by Ligeti and Kodaly, Britten's much-loved depiction of a cat and a mouse as seen by 18th-century poet Christopher Smart, and the first performance of Bernard Hughes' new work which explores the fantastical animals of medieval myth and legend.
