St James's Baroque
The BBC Singers and St James's Baroque perform English church anthems and chamber music from around the time of the Restoration - including works by Henry Purcell, Pelham Humfrey and John Blow - in the 18th-century Stone Gallery of The Vyne. A beautiful red-brick mansion in Hampshire, The Vyne is one of the six National Trust sites hosting a Sunday concert, as part of Baroque Spring, the BBC's major new season celebrating the Baroque era in music and drama. The concert will be presented by Radio 3's Katie Derham, who will explore the historical and social context of this fascinating era as revealed through each house with Antique Roadshow's Lars Tharp.
Places are £15 per person, to book, ring The Vyne on 01256 883858.
