We’re off to see the wizard! John Wilson conducts this lavish orchestral score as a live accompaniment to a screening of the magical 1939 movie, complete with original vocals. Forget scratchy soundtracks: this is the chance to hear Somewhere Over the Rainbow, Follow the Yellow Brick Road and all your favourites in vivid orchestral technicolour – the perfect Bank Holiday treat for munchkins of all ages.

Each performance lasts approximately 1 hour 45 minutes with no interval.

How to get there
- Birmingham New Street and Snow Hill stations are within easy walking distance of Town Hall and Symphony Hall. Moor Street and Five Ways are slightly further away but still within walking distance. (NB Birmingham International serving Birmingham International Airport and The NEC, is approximately 10 miles away.) There are fast and frequent rail services to the centre of Birmingham with free parking at many Centro stations. The Centro Hotline on 0121 200 2700 (open 7.30am – 10.30pm every day except Christmas Day) can help you plan your journey.
- Birmingham is at the hub of a comprehensive motorway network that connects to every corner of the country via the M5, M6, M40 and M42. Follow signs to Birmingham City Centre then follow the brown tourist signs to the Convention Centre and NIA. (Symphony Hall is not featured on road signage.)
- Symphony Hall and The ICC are accessible to wheelchair users and there are various positions where wheelchair users can be seated. Please discuss your needs with the Box Office staff when booking your tickets. Lifts are available to access the upper levels of Symphony Hall but please note there are steps within the auditorium on all Levels, including the Stalls. If you need flat access to your seats please ask when booking.
