Sound of the South West
Sunday 4 March 2012, all day
Devon and CornwallThis is your chance to take part in a national music celebration for the Olympic and Paralympic Games 2012.
From sunrise to sunset on Sunday 4 March 2012, the BBC Concert Orchestra invites everyone in Devon and Cornwall to celebrate the Olympic and Paralympic Games, and take part in one extraordinary day of music-making.
Our challenge is to create a day-long, region-wide concert. A musical snapshot of Devon and Cornwall where everyone has the chance to showcase what's happening in their area.
And we need your help to do it.
Big or small, budding soloists or gargantuous groups; Music Nation: Sound of the South West is about celebrating the diverse musical life of Devon and Cornwall . Any type of musical event or activity from bell-ringers to brass bands; choirs to karaoke; folk fiddles to the local philharmonic can be part of the celebration.
From the sublime to the ridiculous, make-music and invite everyone to come and enjoy it. No matter what you play or what size your group is, let us know and make it part of Music Nation: Sound of the South West .
Not got an event planned? Don't worry, what not create one? The type of event you would like to put on is entirely up to you; it just needs to be music-related and take place on Sunday 4 March 2012.
If you are already planning a musical event for this day, why not let us know and make it part of Music Nation: Sound of the South West .
And…musicians from the BBC Concert Orchestra will be popping up in Devon and Cornwall – keep an eye out!
