Merchant Sinfonia Spring Term 2011 on sale 15 November

  The BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and Glasgow City Halls are now recruiting for the new term of their much loved Community Orchestra - The Merchant Sinfonia.

  Open to anyone of the age 16 and over, regardless of previous musical experience, The Merchant Sinfonia is an orchestra for all those musicians out there who think they’re too inexperienced, too busy or too nervous to play.

  It provides a great opportunity to polish musical skills, get back into music, or to have a go at playing in an orchestra for the first time. All players are welcome, from adult learners to advanced musicians, from beginners to rusty returners.

  Led by the wonderful Cellist and Conductor Louise Martin, the sessions are fun and focused, and allow for players of all abilities to work together with expert mentoring by players from the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.

  The Merchant Sinfonia meets on a weekly basis and explores a variety of orchestral repertoire and arrangements in a relaxed, social environment. If you play an orchestral instrument, are 16 or over and would like to play under the guidance of professional BBC musicians, please come along and join us.

  Tickets are £45.00 per term.

  Tickets are sold for ONE TERM at a time - you can only purchase a ticket for the forthcoming term.

  Tickets go on sale on Monday 15 November.

  Tickets are available for purchase at the box office at Glasgow City Halls and Glasgow Royal Concert Hall either in person or via the telephone (not available to buy online) Telephone number: 0141 353 8000.

  Tickets are sold on a first come first served basis with a limit of 75 places each term.

  ONE ticket covers the following 10 Merchant Sinfonia rehearsal events.
