I've Got The Music In Me
Jessie talks about her musical childhood
After another excellent performance, Jessie is through to the I'd Do Anything finals this Saturday. We caught up with her to ask a few questions about what has motivated her in the competition so far.
What sparked your interest in music and performing?
'I'll always remember growing up in a family where music was always around us and because our mum was a singer and harpist, she always wanted to give us as many opportunities as she could with regards to music.'
When did you realise that this is what you wanted to do with the rest of your life?
'I know this sounds cheesy but I can never really remember a time when I've wanted to do anything else.'
'I've known this is what I want to do from the time that I took my first leading role at school. Even though I was playing a boy.'
How have you coped with the attention and popularity of the show?
'I don't think you can ever grasp how many people are watching the show, or the amount of people who pick up the phone and vote for you because they think you've got what it takes to be a leading lady. I don't think I'll ever grasp that.'
