Reviewing the Situation: Week Nine Result

Rachel was the ninth Nancy to leave

Rachel was the ninth Nancy to leave

It's hard to believe but the quest to find the nation's Nancy is nearly over. We have reached semi-final week, and our four remaining Nancys gave it their all in Saturday's live show to try and clinch one of only three places in next week's all important final.

The public had spoken and Rachel and Samantha found themselves in the singoff after receiving the lowest number of votes. Singing Memory from Cats, it was time for each of them to step forward and try to convince Andrew that they deserve to stay in the competition and fight for the role of Nancy. This would be Andrew's final chance to save one of them before the public choose their favourite leading lady next week.

"Last night Cameron and I were both saying that we thought both of you would be fantastic Nancys and now here am I faced with this." remarked Andrew, clearly faced with an agonising decision. "But I've got to make a decision and I've got to think of where the show ultimately for Cameron is going to go and I think I have to go with you Samantha."

Andrew made his choice, and so it's the end of the road for Rachel. "I'm absolutely devastated that I didn't make it into the final. After getting into the last 12 that was my aim."

So now it's all up to you, and your votes are now even more important, as the decision on who will win the competition is entirely yours. Jessie, Jodie and Samantha have all earned a guaranteed place in the final, but who is your favourite, and which of the three will win your votes? Tune in to the live final next Saturday at 6pm, BBC One to find out.
