Heart And Soul
Jodie talks about making it to the semi-finals
After a tough performance this week, Jodie has secured her place as one of the final four Nancys. We caught up with her for a quick chat.
Were you nervous before your performance on Saturday?
'I really got myself worried about the performance because I knew I had so much singing, acting and dancing stuff, so I was really nervous.'
'Last week, more than any other, I did feel more vulnerable than ever before.'
Was it nice to get good comments from John Barrowman?
'When John said I was his perfect Nancy I beamed from ear to ear. It's the most wonderful thing to hear when you've put your heart and soul into a performance. It's also great to hear from someone like John, who has been in all the big shows that I could be his perfect Nancy.'
Are you proud to have made it through to the semi-finals?
'I really am. I've worked so hard and it's so nice to know that hard work does pay off in the end.'
How are you going to handle the pressure?
'It's a lot of pressure but it's one more week, one more stepping stone and I'm going to graft as hard as I can to get there.'
Do you think we'll be seeing you in the final three?
'I hope so! I'm so grateful for everything I've got up until now, but it does give you that fighting energy because you think 'I've worked too hard and I'm not going to give up at this stage of the game'.
'I'm not ready to go home yet. I'll fight right to the end because it's something I've wanted for so long and I really think this role is something I could put my heart and soul into.'
