Best Week Of My Life

Sam talks about getting through to the semi-finals

Sam talks about getting through to the semi-finals

We caught up with Sam for a quick chat after last week's results show.

What was your plan going into Saturday night's performance?

'On Saturday night I felt I had to show people something they haven't seen from me before, because I think it's all very well being good at what you do, but you have to push yourself or you'll become a one-trick pony. I've tried my hardest to push myself. That shows that you are a really versatile performer and that's what I want to be.'

Are you pleased to be through to the semi-finals?

'I went out there on Saturday night and I was desperate to be in the semi-finals. There are four places and I really wanted one of them. All the girls worked really, really hard and put up a good fight, but I'm thrilled that I'm through.'

How does it feel to lose another Nancy from the house?

'When my name got called and I knew I was through, it was a massive weight off my mind, but then you go and sit down and worry about the other girls. You do worry for them and we really do care about each other.'

'I thought of the good old days when we used to have two massive people carriers to move us around. We call all fit in a tiny car now.'

Have you enjoyed the past week?

'Last week I met my idol Idina Menzel, I danced around with Ben Ellis, I went to the Sex and the City premiere and I got really good comments for singing my favourite song on Saturday night. I'd say that is the best week of my life.'
