Are you feeling bored? Do you have nothing to do
at weekends? If so, then why not get yourself along to one of the
sporting clubs in and around Nottingham.
Nottingham is in fact home to some of the most famous sports teams
in the country.
Football, Rugby Union and Ice Hockey are amongst the various winter
sports that you can see. Tempted? If so then here are a few details
that should be useful to you:

Nottingham
Forest
Forest are perhaps the most famous of these clubs. They
have a great history, including two European Cup successes two
decades ago. Times have been hard for the Reds recently, however,
this season, under manager Paul Hart, they appear to be making
a revival. They are currently in the upper reaches of the First
Division and promotion to next seasons Premiership is
well within their reach.
Tickets: £10 with student card. Available from
Student Union or Forest ticket office
Upcoming Home Fixtures: 2nd Nov, v Sheffield United,
16th Nov, v Bradford City |
Notts
County
Unlike their neighbours Forest, this season looks likely to
be one of struggle for County. The oldest football league team
in the country find themselves near the bottom of Division Two.
Along with many of the teams in the Nationwide League, a lack
of money is a great problem, hindering any prospect of a resurgence.
However, they are still worth going to watch.
Tickets: £11-16. Students can obtain a season ticket
for just £99.
Upcoming Home Fixtures: 29th Oct, v Swindon Town, 9th
Nov, v Mansfield Town |

Hockey |
Nottingham
Panthers The Panthers are one of the premier Ice
Hockey teams in the country. They are in the Super League and
play their home matches at the world renowned National Ice Stadium
in town. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Ice Hockey,
it is well worth going to see, and your support will be most
welcome.
Tickets: £13-15
Upcoming Home Fixtures: 3rd Nov, v Scottish Eagles, 9th
Nov, v Belfast Giants |

RFC
Nottingham Rugby Club play their trade in the Second Division
of Englands national leagues. They are not as famous as
some of their more illustrious sporting neighbours but are also
worth going along to watch.
Upcoming Home Fixtures: 2nd Nov, v Bracknell |
