A Nottingham-based theatre company is putting on their latest play in three of the city's charity shops.

Burt 'n' Joyce is the story about two Nottinghamshire charity workers, who discover more than they bargained for when they turn up for an ordinary day at work.

The charity shops will play the unusual duel role of set and setting.

Burt 'n' Joyce is a heart-warming comedy about relationships, hard cash and fig rolls.

The cast is made up of two Nottinghamians, Mark Whiteley (Peak Practice, Soldier, Soldier, Heartbeat) and Nicky Rafferty (Crossroads).

The story so far...
The last time we saw the Hard Graft Theatre Company was back in October 2002.

Then they were performing in the old Redmayne & Todd shop, Birkbeck House in Trinity Square.

In fact, Mark Whiteley wrote Burt 'n' Joyce in the shop's window.

Before that they were engaged on a tour of living rooms of Britain with their play Thick as Thieves, the story of two inexperienced thieves whose discovery of a murdered budgie is just the beginning of a disturbing night's work.

Theatrical revolution
If Burt 'n' Joyce is anything like the Hard Graft it should make for an involving and entertaining evening.

The Hard Graft Theatre company will be appearing in Nottingham from 19th - 29th March 2003.
