Leslie Grantham and Jo Pasquale take up their swords for this year's panto at the Theatre Royal

It's taken months to prepare, it features several star players and training's well underway even though it doesn't kick off for another six months.

Obviously it's the Christmas panto!

Ninety minutes of entertainment every day for at least seven weeks - today sees the launch of Peter Pan, this year's panto at the Theatre Royal.

The production will star Leslie Grantham (aka Dirty Den from Eastenders) and Jo Pasquale (that comedian with the squeaky voice) and the boys just couldn't wait to get back into costume.

Leslie Grantham is well used to playing the baddy and is looking forward to his new role: "I think people remember villains and I've been very lucky to play one of the best on British television. My Captain Hook's more of a buffoon."

Come Christmas when the World Cup's well and truly.. eh erm " behind you" you can bet this team of players will be hoping to draw in the crowds:

Here's a sneaky peak of the stars in Peter Pan's first dress rehersal:

Jo Pasquale
Aren't pantomimes meant to be in winter Leslie?
Leslie Grantham
Yes Jo, but I was missing my wig.
Leslie Grantham and Jo Pasquale
Mmm. I do quite like my beard too. However, it's time to get back to the World Cup.
Leslie Grantham and Jo Pasquale
We will be back...when the World Cup is over.

BBC Nottingham promise to keep you up to date with the wacky world of panto.
