Giddy up boy

It's as if the Ramones had been given a new lease of life.

Who: Band coming out of Chicago who apparently made an impression at this year's South By South West (big US festival where our own Earth the Californian Love Dream played).

Sounds like: A promising mix of 60s psychedlia, Ramones, the Cure, Lou Reed and the type of records Peel was playing in the early 80s.

Verdict: They're heading to Nottingham on 27th May (at Stealth) and by the evidence of this they'll be worth viewing. I had visions of some punk/thrash/country but this is highly accessible pop with a rock edge. And while it might not be cool to say, there are some decent tunes in here. Pure CBGBs material.

i-Pod: Sad Eyes, Fall Inn

Label: In the Red

Verdict: 3.5/5
