MC Solaar
I'm Tintin - honest

The album cover, believe it or not, is based on the Tintin book Destination Moon!

Who: French rapper who's onto album six and likes to dress as spacebound Tintin on his album cover.

French rap?: It's not exactly Eminem. The problem is, French is such a romantic language that Solaar might be cussing and swearing and I wouldn't have a clue. Even if he was it would probably still sound sweet.

Verdict: A bit of a disappointment. I was expecting French rap with an African rhythm.

The promise was of a heap of traditional African instruments. They might well be there but tracks like Hijo De Africa sound just like Wayne Wonder.

It's not exactly a rap Afro Celt Sound System.

Label: East West

Rating: 2.5/5
